Description

Antonio! is a queer punk pirate musical starring Shakespeare’s ultimate love interest. With his band The Fools, Antonio expresses the joys, frustrations, and rebellions of queer love in a world that might not have been quite ready for it. Reframed – and reclaimed – as a hopelessly romantic pirate who can’t help falling in love with the wrong men, Antonio! tells the story of how he inspired Shakespeare to write one of the queerest characters in the canon. An original musical by a team of queer artists from NYC and New Zealand.

Who doesn’t love queer af punk-rock pirates, Shakespeare, and musicals with a rompish energy – this show has it all. Wonderfully queer, hilarious, boisterous, but also with quite emotional beats and badass songs by a kick-ass band/crew!

Queer joy at it’s finest!
All of the actors are just SO talented and you can clearly tell they’re having a good time as well. A show deserving of a much bigger venue next time. If you are lgbtqia+, enjoy musicals, pirates or just having a good time in general - go see Antonio!

WHAT A SHOW!! So inspiring, epic, beautiful, I'd buy the album I'm a heart beat. An amazing and clever mix of Rock Concert with a Shakespeaian flair. Will have you dancing in your seats, screaming FUCK MONEY at the top of your lungs and feeling super tingly and loved. Now can we talk about the cast - freakingly, extremely talented human beings, the vocals, the comic timing, utter perfection.

Pure queer joy – expressed with energy, comfort, and delight that brings you right into the story. The music is foot-stompingly good, and you’ll be with the silliness of it all right up to the end.
