Description

One of the UK’s foremost political satirists, Andrew Doyle returns to Edinburgh for his eighth solo stand-up show. He is the creator of internet sensation Titania McGrath, and has co-written numerous viral videos featuring spoof reporter Jonathan Pie. His response to Donald Trump’s election has been viewed online more than 150 million times and a more recent piece was described by Ricky Gervais as 'one of the most perfect (and important) pieces of comedy I’ve ever seen'.

submitted a favourable review for Andrew's show that doesn't show up.
I can highly recommend it as one of the best on Fringe 2019.
this is political comedy so requires brain activity and some prior knowledge.

Very funny, challenging show (taking place directly after his alter-ego Titania McGrath's MXNIFESTO) which takes the form of an increasingly tipsy rant about the trend for disingenuous "woke" media, the left''s betrayal of itself, and why twins only have half a soul.

Will definitely resonate with anyone who has found that without changing any of their leftie opinions, they have magically been reclassified as "alt-right" for daring to value free speech of all things.

The group that trapsed out after 10 minutes (big Anna Soubrey fans?) only went to prove the point that the bar for offense has been set trivially low.

A real marmite show ... Some good story telling - I’m not sure if the whole bottle of red wine drunk really helped - if you like to watch something that’s hard to swallow and challenging - you’ll love this show , just one caution this show contains ‘ free speech’.

Pathetically unfunny. About eight of us walked out after 15 minutes. Save your money.

The Scotsman (4/5 stars) 27 days ago

“It’s over for me” says Andrew Doyle towards the end of this passionate, powerful show. If true then that is a terrible thing. He is a highly intelligent, wonderfully articulate comedian, capable of excising laughs from the most awful of realities with surgical precision. ...
