Description

Jeffrey Holland (Hi-de-Hi, You Rang M'Lord) returns in this sell-out one-man show about friendship, memories and a couple of remarkable lives. Set in the bedroom of a sick Oliver Hardy, the show takes place during Laurel's visit to the dying man. Recounting their previous success as the comedy act Laurel and Hardy, this is a humorous and touching look at one of the great cinematic partnerships of the last century. **** (Metro, Edinburgh Evening News, Broadwaybaby.com, ThreeWeeks, ThePublicReviews.com). 'Spellbinding and magically, timelessly funny' **** (Stage).

Very poor. Worst value out of all the shows I attended.

It took me a while to work out how to post a review, but I did not want to miss the opportunity to add my thanks to Jeffrey Holland for a superb play and to endorse all the positive comments below. The situation cleverly offered a natural scenario for a one-man show in which Jeffrey Holland as Stan Laurel relives episodes in the Laurel & Hardy story, brilliantly portraying both actors in comedy excerpts, as well as sensitively describing the lows in their lives. Funny, poignant, we laughed, we cried - a great start to our Fringe experience.

This was my first show of this year's Fringe and I was off to a great start.
Jeffrey Holland really was captivating in this excellent one man show.

Slick, professional and an actor still performing at the top of his craft.

An acting masterclass by a true professional. Held my attention well.

A very enjoyable hour. The ability of the actor to be both Hardy and Laurel reminds me a bit of Andy Serkis in Lord of the rings. Very funny and touching. Recommended.

Really enjoyable. Jeffrey Holland becomes Stan Laurel.

A great show - a masterclass of how one actor can hold an audience in the palm of his hand for almost an hour. Very interesting, and informative. Many young performers at the Fringe could learn a huge amount from watching this. Thank you Jeffrey Holland - this was one of my fringe highlights.

Got a couple of very last minute tickets today (the show sells very well), and mighty pleased I did.
Beautifully written and acted, and the character sympathetically handled by the experienced and polished Jeffrey Holland.

Captivating one man show, which is filled with such insight into Laurel and Hardys relationship. His Stan Laurel impression is uncanny! Go see!!

*Disclaimer: I'm not a Laurel and Hardy fan*

That being said, I do like a good story and theirs is a good story.

Jeffrey Holland's one man show brings together the stories of Laurel's and Hardy's lives and careers along with some of the famous scenes from their movies.

It has laughter and tears and shows that Mr Holland has a great grasp of the character of a man who knew - but was also clearly frustrated by the fact - that without Oliver Hardy he was not a professional success.

As Laurel looks back on their lives and their careers Hardy is very much in the room... Even if he's only conjured by the performance.

An excellent one man show. I learned so much about Oliver & Hardy in this show. It was both funny and sad at times.
