Description
'The brilliantly topical Alistair Barrie, one of the UK's sharpest comedians' (Herald) returns to the Fringe with 'an absolutely stunning hour of political comedy' (Entertainment-Now.com). 'This is about as good as it gets' according to Fringe Review in 2022, while The Scotsman said Alistair 'carves laughter from life with the precision of a diamond cutter'. So come and hear his take on 2023. Let's face it, if he can't make the last year funny we might as well all go home. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Absolutely brilliant, five stars from us, Alastair's comedic timing is unmatched, the act is impeccably planned, with apt, entertaining, but not ‘in your face’ social / political commentary, can’t wait to see this guy again.

Truly hilarious! Absolutely nailed it! I haven’t laughed like that for years! Couldn’t quite believe how brilliant it was. This was a masterclass in stand up.

What to say --- THIS WAS PHENOMENAL! A true genius! I loved the look of this show, and when I went, I could not stop laughing. This was relatable, genius and just pure comedy from start to finish. Alistair should be on all the comedy shows and circuits there is!
He would not be out of place on shows past and present and deserves a sell out show at the Apollo! I cannot wait to follow this man's career! You say 'Woke in Progress', I say 'Woke and stoked' - this was professional standard! A must see at the Fringe!

***** Definite 5 stars for this guy. Went on a recommendation and was not disappointed, he's a real pro. Intelligent, engaging, topical. Best stand up I've seen at the Fringe in 5 years.

Having been pestered to go and see Alistair by our daughter we went! She claimed it was the best show she had seen this year (out of about 20) and she wasn't wrong. Very funny, excellent content and a show which flowed effortlessly from start to finish. Alistair is a proper comedian!! Assuming he will return in 2024 so will we.

Hilarious, fast paced, laugh out loud - No Joke. My wife has resolved to up her pelvic floor exercises to prevent further leakage before we book again. Oh sorry - she has corrected, she cried rather than leaked with laughter. Two more dates don’t miss.

This guy is great. A solid stand up with a great hour structured well with great call backs. Seen lots of things proffessing to comedy this week that are in no way as funny as this. In fact it was the perfect palette cleanser after the truly awful Cambridge Footlights

I've seen Alistair Barrie a few times so I was perfectly confident he was going to be great, and he was. I brought my friend along, who hadn't seen Alistair Barrie and she didn't know what to expect, and she laughed so hard I thought she was going to be sick.

Occasionally you get taken to a show you didn't really have on your radar and even more occasionally you realise your radar is shit.
This was one of those occasions.
Alistair Barrie delivered a pointed, charged and (I am told) shouty set with extraordinary self awareness, kindness and unerring accuracy. A packed room of wildly different people and everyone left with much stronger abdominal muscles. Probably shouldn't stand for office but I would vote for him if he did.

Going to the Edinburgh Fringe and not seeing Alistair Barrie perform would be like going to Waitrose and not buying houmous. Here at the Fringe, he is in his element. he's a master craftsman, and this year's show is even better than last year's. Alistair is a fantastic performer, had the audience in stitches right from the first joke and crying laughing by the end. My only criticism is that it was only an hour long. If you only see one show at this year's Fringe, it's got to be this one.

Just sat through his one hour show and honestly my sides hurt from laughing. Well worth the price of admission. Great evening out.

Saw Alistair in 2022 and thought he was excellent, so sought him out this year and are so glad we did. His show was our favourite of the day. Extremely funny from start to finish. Would highly recommend and he will be on our list for any future Fringe visits. Go and see him.

We saw Alistair in the "pick of the fringe" show where he had a 10 minute slot and we got curious. Later in the evening we saw his full show and we really had an amazing time. This is a show worth to pay for, and one of the best stand up I've seen a fringe. Hiiiighly recommend!
