Description

This is hip... This is rockabilly. Award-winning vocalist Ali Affleck and roots trio The Buick 55s team up to bring the rockabilly pioneers to the Fringe. Blending elements of blues, jazz, gospel and country, this is toe-tapping, finger-popping music that swings hard and delivers the feel-good factor. Ali and the Buicks have all the energy, vitality and drive that the original 1950s rockabilly artists had, but present it in a fresh way. ‘Musical storyteller’ (Scotsman). 'Astounding vocals' ***** (San Diego Tribune). ‘Vivacious stage presence’ ***** (Herald).

The Uncrowned Queens of Blues, Hot Jazz and Hokum from New Orleans to Memphis is how this show is described, and that’s what we get. And as far as the audience at the packed-out Jazz Bar are concerned, that was exactly what they wanted.
