Description

This is a brand-new hour from Alfie Brown about family, friendship and inherited belief. Truly subversive and almost torridly honest, Alfie is a room-distilling comedian whose last hit show had sold-out runs in Edinburgh, at Soho Theatre and on tour. Like him, the new hour will be loving, dangerous, inquisitive and disgusting. 'It is tricky to write 350 sensible words, when you come out a show simply thinking 'Wow! F*ck! Wow!'' ***** (Scotsman). ‘The British Doug Stanhope’ **** (Guardian).

Seen Saturday 10th August. An act that really builds a rapport with the audience. There is a good mix of a funny routine and interaction with the crowd. An enjoyable evening and a very good show. 8.5/10.

Edinburgh Festivals Magazine (4/5 stars) 3 days ago

Alfie Brown holds the audience in the palm of his hand, starting conversations with as many of them as he can; all backchat greeted with amiable banter. He has that chameleon comedian’s trick of appealing to all in the room, explained explicitly by Alfie as a...

The Wee Review (3/5 stars) 8 days ago

Alfie Brown belongs to that class of comedians for whom crowd interaction is more than just foreplay – it constitutes the main event of the evening. Indeed, he’s up on stage partaking of it before the show has even begun, playfully ribbing some audience members who continue to chat to...

Fest (4/5 stars) 13 days ago

Alfie Brown is a bit like one of those heritage rock bands who subject the world to perfunctory new releases purely so they can justify going on the road to perform material recorded while they were a valued entity in the studio. Which is to say that he writes satisfactory...
