Absolutely brilliant! We cried with laughter from start to finish. It's a small venue, so book if you want to see him.

Alex is a clever chap. This is of course a good thing in a comedian. His songs tend to start with the nimble fingered plucking of a beautiful melody from his acoustic guitar then a light introductory context (e.g. persuading his dad to watch Bridgerton in lockdown) but get progressively darker and more absurd (e.g. a surprise party that… does not go well. No spoilers here). Immaculate comic timing and thoroughly original. Sold out when we saw it, so book ahead.

Really enjoyed all Alex's songs, they were all a lot of fun, but I think the short ones he kept sneaking in really made it for me - little nuggets of comedy gold!

Caught him doing a three minute set at Fast Fringe, decided to go to his full show. Very funny and original songs, his act has matured wonderfully since his Cambridge Footlights days. Definitely worth seeing.

Mr MacKeith claims that this is comedy-as-therapy. When done right, that sort of comedy can be cleansing and cathartic (as well as enjoyable) for the audience too – and this show certainly is.

Quirky, witty and wonderfully genuine, Alex MacKeith presents a series of songs and stories loosely based on his real life experiences.

This is a great routine, full of real frustrations we can all relate to, which just happens to be set to music.

Nestled in a small, ambiently lit room on the lower ground floor of McEwan Hall (this year’s Dexter venue hosted by Underbelly), Alex MacKeith is performing a daring one-man musical comedy. Armed with a middle-class white man’s “primary form of communication”, the humble acoustic guitar, and fuelled by an ample supply of off-beat anxieties and fictitious anecdotes, Alex MacKeith: Thank you for Listening is an impressive solo Fringe debut from the winner of the 2020 Musical Comedy UK Awards.
