Description

Faced with the grim reality of life in the genteel English countryside, Alex's dreams of youthful urban living seem light years away and when a nefarious village plot is revealed, there may be no chance of escape! A comedic concerto: Supernova is the critically acclaimed, funk-fuelled hip-hopera rap musical from Melbourne Fringe Best Comedy Award nominee Alex Cofield, who rhymes his way out of his routine rural life and shoots for the stars beyond! 'This is quality rapping' ***** (One4Review). 'A masterclass in storytelling' ***** (TheUpsideNews.com).

Imagine the Archers rewritten by the Beastie Boys and you get somewhere near Alex Cofield’s tale of rural gothic rendered in the style of hip-hop. Very funny, acute, energetic and musically adept Alex’s supernova burns brightly. It was a shame the audience was limited a few connoisseurs - go and see him at the Gilded Balloon and share the joy.

Proper belly laugh for an entire hour!! One man super freakin’ explosion of energy exposing the seriously strange sociopathic undercurrents of tiny North Piddles’ village inmates. See it and weep.
