Alastair celebrates Scotland's magical fiddle tradition in the glorious Canongate Kirk acoustic. Joining him are long-time collaborators Euan Drysdale (guitar/piano) and Iain Crawford (double bass) alongside folk music legends Eddie McGuire (flute), Ewan Robertson (whistle) and Perthshire fiddle ace Pete Clark. Plaintive airs and swashbuckling reels combine for a colourful and moving journey of melody – ancient and modern. A festival highlight not to be missed. ‘Spectacular in simplicity, scope and delivery’ ( ‘A must for aficionados, a primer for anyone with a notional interest in Scottish traditional music’ (Herald).
