Description

Described as ‘doom jazz at its finest’, AKU! is a hard-boiled trio of top musicians out of Glasgow. To say they always make a powerful statement when they perform is something of an understatement. They generate their sound with saxophone and trombone, trading between the roles of a rhythm section and a frontline with the use of effects on top of highly intense drums. Fusing together the genres of noise-rock, Afrobeat and hip-hop, AKU! are thriving to follow in the footsteps of artists including Death Grips, Sons of Kemet, Fela Kuti and The Thing.
