Description

Behind every addict is someone traumatised by loving them. And still we love, a strong, difficult, hard love. There is addiction in my family and I do not know what to do about it so I am asking people in addiction, in recovery, working to help addicts and those researching drugs benefits and harms, to tell me their stories. I paint their portraits and write their stories directly onto the paintings, powerful, heartbreaking, hopeful and real accounts of experiences with drugs and alcohol. The exhibition is about hope, community and compassion, boundaries and truth.
