Description

Why would a man disappear inside his own home for seven and a half years, just when he has the most to share? This isn't a story about being sick, it's a story about healing yourself. Original songs and soundscapes are interwoven with dialogue and narration, telling an extraordinary, life-affirming true story. Performed by: Mark Glentworth. Directed by: Jonny Danciger. Mark Glentworth has been working with director Steven Berkoff since 1983, creating scores for many of his productions including On The Waterfront, Metamorphosis, Coriolanus and The Trial. He is a prolific composer across a wide spectrum of genres.

An intense insight into a personal experience of mental health issues; raw but with a message of hope. Thank you.

A powerful performance movingly delivered about mental health and recovery from it. This reflects on how the descent into anxiety occurs, the over-medicalisation of therapy and the importance of communication, telling the story with great songs and disarming honesty.

I wondered how you could have a one man musical, but Mark's performance is powerful and emotional proof that you can. Everything about this show is good. We'd seen 'On Your Bike' earlier. 7 1/2 Years was in complete contrast but I thouroughly recommend them both.

An extraordinary story, hugely powerful delivery. Difficult to understand the position Mark was in and how he found his way back to the light. Honest and candid portrayal. Attended with two teenagers and it led to some thought provoking discussions. Doubt we will see a show as emotional or raw this week

Musical Theatre Reviews (4/5 stars) 38 days ago

This is a biographical work like nothing else I have ever seen. Mark Glentworth was a successful musician, working as an associate of Steven Berkoff for many years, creating the scores for some of his most celebrated work such as Metamorphosis and Coriolanus. A master craftsman of a truly high pedigree, fulfilling his potential.
