Description

First run in 1861, this exhibition is one of the oldest and longest running photographic salons in the world. This 158th running will accept just over 200 of the best photographic prints selected by our international panel of judges from the thousands submitted from all corners of the globe. This low acceptance level is a challenge to many photographers who submit work, eagerly hoping for an acceptance at Edinburgh. The exhibition is organised by and displayed in Edinburgh Photographic Society in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town. A4 Printed Colour Catalog is included.

Many beautiful images to see here. A nice break from the crowds.

A little off the fringe comedy track, thought a bit of art was in order to educate the teenagers. There was a wide range of photographs on display and we are so pleased with the brochure that will keep them in our memory. The staff on the door were very welcoming and friendly. Really glad we came

Hidden gem of a collection! We really enjoyed the exhibition. However, it is important that photographs are contextualized in at least their time and space. The images stated the title chosen by the photographer (in all likelihood) and their nationality, irrespective of where the photos were taken. This rendered the photographs largely devoid of meaning and positionality of the photographer, which was disappointing.

Smaller than I expected, no welcome or goodbye from the ladies at the entrance. My ticket wasn't even scanned. Not great.
